Reception of Quality Brands Protection Committee of CAEFI

During the China International Import Expo, Reception of Quality Brands Protection Committee (QBPC) of CAEFI for the Forum on the Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting was held in Le Royal Méridien Shanghai on the evening of November 7, 2018. Mr. Qu Xiaoyang, Vice Chairman of QBPC, hosted the meeting. On behalf of the QBPC, Mr. Jack Chang, Chairman of QBPC, sincerely thanked Mr. Chen Deming, Chairman of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, for his long-term support for the work of the Quality Assurance Committee. Mr. Zhang Jingli, Deputy Director General of Economic Crime Investigation Bureau of Ministry of Public Security, and the teams attacking intellectual property crimes exchanged with overseas executives of member companies. He reviewed the cooperation between ECID and the predecessor of QBPC and QBPC on the fight against crimes of Intellectual property over the past 20 years. He greatly appreciated the outstanding contribution made by QBPC serving as a bridge linking the public security department and the rights holders, promoting public awareness and development of IP protection.  He further affirmed that QBPC as the international bridge, objectively conveyed the constructive opinions of the rights holders’ foreign headquarters and publicized the practice and achievements of China’s intellectual property protection at important international intellectual property conferences. Deputy Council of Dept. General Operation, General Administration of Customs Mr. LI Qunying, Minister-Counsellor and EUIPO IP Attaché at the EU embassy Mr. Günther Marten, Consul and IP Attaché of U.S. Consulate General Shanghai Mr. Mike Mangelson and President of International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition Mr. Robert Barchiesi also confirmed the positive role of QBPC in intellectual property protection in China. Jack concluded by stating that “QBPC will further strengthen cooperation with all parties, continue to work hard for the cause of intellectual property protection in China, create a more fair and safe market environment for the public, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of foreign brands in China, and open up a new situation of intellectual property rights protection in China together with China International Import Expo.”
