                                                       — Unilever Open Day

Unilever is widely known as its products are purchased by over 20 billion person-times each day all around the world according to statistics. Brands such as Knorr, Lipton, Omo, Lux, Dove, Rexona, Wall’s, etc. have won great support from people. Unilever is one of the biggest manufacturers of ice-cream, tea drinks, margarine and condiments, and also one of the largest producers of washing, skin-cleansing and hair care products around the world. Members of the Quality Brands Protection Committee (QBPC) are deeply interested in how Unilever carries out IP protection for so many famous products.

On October 12, the 2017 QBPC Membership Service Journey - Unilever Open Day was held in the building of Unilever headquarters in Shanghai, in which 30 representatives from 24 member units of QBPC (TWE, UL, Bayer, Schneider-Electric,Johnson & Johnson, etc.) participated.

QBPC members enjoyed a fantastic visual feast the moment they stepped into the Unilever building and could not help commending its cozy, elegant, smart and modern environment. Chief Representative of brands protection in North Asia for Unilever, Yang Haijiang introduced to QBPC members his years of practical experience in IP protection industry and shared ways of realizing self-value in career.

Vice chair of Membership Service Committee (MSC) of QBPC and brands protection coordinator in North Asia for Unilever, Lisa Qi, served as the host for the Unilever Open Day, proudly introduced the history, sustainable development strategy and brands protection in North Asia for Unilever to QBPC members through eye-catching videos.

Unilever boasts a galaxy of talents. Upon the end of speech by Lisa, vice chair of  Best Practice/Enforcement Committee (BPEC) and brands protection manager of Unilever, Leon Lv introduced to QBPC members about the brands, department structure, cross-department cooperation, connotation of Unilever’s logo as well as its pertinence to businesses. Furthermore, he shared excellent IP protection practices of Unilever in 2017 with members.

Unilever has done its utmost in preparing for this membership service journey with not only spiritual feast but also tasty: Lipton tea and Magnum ice-cream of Unilever! In addition, Unilever Lipton pop-up shop provided palatable fruit tea and Lipton-baked tea refreshments. What a spiritual and material treat!

Q&A is indispensable for the Open Day, in which members actively posed questions centering on trademark management & disputes, experience of combating illegalities, internal and external communication and cooperation, etc. This Open Day provided opportunities for member companies to deepen knowledge of each other and share advanced IP management experience and typical practices. Members were deeply impressed and expected more information and communication from next member service journey.

Member Service Journey is ongoing. It is hoped that QBPC members could pay attention to, participate in and enjoy it!
