Create Time:2020-11-27

On the afternoon of October 21, QBPC vice Chairman Steven Wang, members of the Customs Committee and representatives of some member enterprises held an offline communication meeting with Hangzhou Customs. Leaders of Hangzhou Customs General Business Office and personnel of Intellectual Property Department had in-depth exchanges with QBPC vice chair Steven Wang, the Customs Committee vice chair Wendy Lin and Jerry Yang, as well as representatives from member companies such as Johnson & Johnson, SANOFI and Allergan on improving IPR and cracking down on import and export infringement and counterfeiting.

During the meeting, the representative of QBPC mentioned that Zhejiang, as an important market for IPR protection, is facing many tests and challenges, and thanked Hangzhou Customs for its dutiful efforts in IPR protection. In 2020, Hangzhou Customs is, as always, at the forefront of the protection of intellectual property rights by customs nationwide, and has been actively exploring and innovating the protection of intellectual property rights in new fields, especially in E-Commerce and according to the clues fed back by right holders, trace the sources of counterfeit products and constantly improve the protection of intellectual property rights in import and export.

The two sides also had a heated discussion and exchange on the characteristics of the infringing goods, the tracing of foreign-related clues and the sharing of case information, etc in the meeting. Hangzhou Customs also made answers to the perplexity raised by the member enterprises. The customs said that although epidemic prevention and control is a priority in the import and export sector this year, it has not relaxed the protection of intellectual property rights, and the cooperation and interaction between ports in the Yangtze River Delta has been very close. The Customs also pointed out that the right holder and the customs should cooperate with each other to ensure the smooth progress of the work, no matter in providing information or responding to the customs notice.

In 2020, Hangzhou Customs has made a lot of efforts and achieved a lot in intellectual property protection. The Customs will continue to take the protection of intellectual property rights as the focus of its work. It hopes to continue to strengthen cooperation with the QBPC and strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights by the Customs. The customs indicated that they are willing to actively and two-way exchange with the obligee through various forms of activities regarding the issues of common concern to the obligee.

Hangzhou Customs and QBPC have reached a consensus on relevant work. QBPC will continue to strengthen the communication and contact between member enterprises and the customs and make more efforts to this end.
